Masterclasses

In the 4 masterclasses, the participants and experts will develop solutions for  Hyperloop topics.

NE_IND_01

Masterclass 1: MagRail use-cases, how to apply MagRail to railways / Insights from Nevomo’s customer driven solution development. Insights into the current use-case evaluations with Nevomo’s railway customers, both for freight and passenger applications.:

  • GATX / Nevomo – how to retrofit an existing freight wagon to MagRail Booster – results from the test-track
  • Tata Steel / Nevomo  – upgrading a steel factory with MagRaul Booster for automation and electrification

Learn about the features, the benefits and modular use-cases on enhancing railways with Nevomo’s interoperable MagRail upgrade. The session will be performed together with Nevomo’s clients and partner’s: GATX and TATA Steel.

STEFAN KIRCH  (CHIEF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER & CO-FOUNDER – NEVOMO)

JULIAN MADSEN (STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER EUROPE – GATX)

HANS VAN DER WEIJDE (DIRECTOR STRATEGY, PROGRAMMES & EXTERNAL COLLABORATIONS – TATA STEEL)

Masterclass 2: “Sustainable power supply for Hyperloop subsystems.”

Hyperloop subsystems are heart of the technology and no longer the future — they are the present. Diverse subsystems are used in technology implementation beginning with magnetic levitation, vacuum pumps and evacuation systems. Subsystems’ selection directly affects how much energy is consumed and what is environmental impact. What susbsystems to choose and how to make sure sustainable power supply? What steps must undertake developers to build credible, reliable and viable Hyperloop? Goal of the workshop is to define outline of framework for sustainable power supply for the Hyperloop subsystems.

ALEXEI VESELIY (SENIOR DATA ENGINEER – ACCENTURE)

Masterclass 3: Scaling Vacuum technology for Hyperloop – future challenges

There is no future technology that will have a bigger impact on vacuum pump manufactures than HYPERLOOP in regards to the number of pumps to be produced. Due to the enormous demand for pumping speed along a HYPERLOOP commercial track a huge number of today’s standard pumps would be needed. Optimized and application specialized solutions could help to increase the technical and commercial efficiency of such vacuum pumping systems. The task if everything but trivial but can be managed by Leybold with a close cooperation in between the involved partners.

DR. TOM KAMMERMEIER (GLOBAL APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – LEYBOLD)

MICHAEL STEININGER (MARKET SEGMENT MANAGER – LEYBOLD)

DB Hyperloop

Masterclass 4: Implementation of Hyperloop Project as Public Private Partnerships

Hyperloop has the tangible potential to change mobility as we know it. The climate targets that we set for ourselves require new, innovative solutions and Hyperloop will be a significant contributor. To realize Hyperloop projects we need to approach them like any other infrastructure project. The masterclass will open the discussion about what that means in exiting linear infrastructure projects and how it translates into the Hyperloop eco-system.
