In the 6 masterclasses, the participants and experts will develop solutions for Hyperloop topics.
Masterclass 1: „Building the Korean hyperloop value chain“
Korea is one of the most innovative regions in the world, with advanced transport systems like KTX and home of the main magnetic levitation commuters like Incheon Airport Maglev. The evolution towards hyperloop will need big corporations, institutions, researchers and startups to cooperate to make the system a reality and in this workshop we will connect the dots to understand what’s needed to create a robust hyperloop value chain for South Korea.
ALBERTO VICENT (MARKET & BUSINESS EXPERT – ZELEROS HYPERLOOP)
Masterclass 2: „Hightech Tubes for Hyperloop“
In this Masterclass we will delve into the fascinating world of Hyperloop tubes. Over the course of the class, we will explore the intricacies of these tubes, their design, construction, material and the challenges they still present. The latest insights will be shared and you will have plenty of opportunity to give your views and share your ideas. You will learn which material offers the perfect balance of strength, durability, cost effectiveness, safety and sustainability for Hyperloop tubes.
DR. WOOYEON CHO – (SENIOR RESEARCHER – POSCO STEEL SOLUTION RESEARCH Laboratory)
Masterclass 3: „Developing a Minimum Viable System – the needs for operational, standardization and regulatory criteria at international level“
Each Hyperloop Promoter is heavily working on their Proof Of Concept. Having this many different technological and technical approaches, this will lead to a mixture of solutions. To prepare a first real case, a Minimum Viable System with a focus on a well-established transport network it is necessary to discuss Operational, Regulatory and Standard related Criteria in parallel to the technical issues. Finding a way for this is not an easy way, since all promoters have their own point of view. This masterclass will introduce the topic to the audience, give an overview about the needs from an operator’s perspective and will discuss the risks and benefits of a standardization process. Additionally, a little workshop for defining the right level of standardization and the related risks will be conducted.
JÖRG MARIENHAGEN (DIRECTOR MOBILITY CONSULTING – DEUTSCHE BAHN ENGINEERING & CONSULTING)
Masterclass 4: „Large Diameter Hyperloop Tubes Mass Production“
There are currently companies in the world that can manufacture large diameter tubes. We, as a joint venture, are unique to manufacture in the form of spiral welded large-diameter mass production. In this Master Class we will tell about the stages of production. The first stage will be the mass production of large diameter spirally-welded tubes. Second stage will cover fit-up and welding of forged flanges, suction outlets and coating operations.
MEHMET ÖRGEN – (HYPERLOOP LEAD – ERCIYAS)
OMER KOKNAL – (PRODUCTION MANAGER – CIMTAS STEEL)
Masterclass 5: „The Hyperloop Infrastructure Design Challenges“
1) Introduction on the governing data to be focused during the preliminary design of an hyperloop infrastructure;
2) Selection of the most suitable material to be used for the construction;
3) Introduction on the basics of the infrastructure design elements (pylons, tubes, bearings,);
4) Introduction on the dynamics of the hyperloop infrastructure;
5) Introduction on hyperloop riding on long spans structures (bridges) – evaluation of the amplification factor
ANDREA SANTANGELO (CIVIL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER – P.E.)
